Current Operation

Vectes Europe, specialist in ICT-assisted work-based learning, , is managed by Rik Vanden Berk. He is an industrial engineer who has been focusing on supervised independent work-based learning for some time and is inspired by the lean thinking principle.

Activities

• Vectes Europe distributes the ICT medium to offer companies a tailor-made and cost-effective solution for safeguarding knowledge and for knowledge transfer. We will give manager teams a clear view of MUMETT and we will train those responsible for MUMETT to create (lesson) packages themselves based on a demo upon request. If required, the necessary multimedia can be transferred to us electronically and our experts will create a package completely tailor made based on customer specifications.
• We also supervise companies when producing task analyses in accordance with the VECTES MODEL: A structured model to describe a task in all its facets and to be able to secure in MUMETT.
• If you are searching for an ICT-assisted method to train skills, we can supervise those responsible for training courses in the application of the ORBIT8 METHOD.
• We offer companies and schools finished STANDARD PACKAGES on CD-ROM. These CD-ROMs have the Learning Management System (LMS) of MUMETT to follow up on every learning pathway. Very many packages are available : Including Diagram Reading Mechanics, Measuring Techniques, 5S Philosophy, Quality Improvement, etc. .
• We can also offer courses in creating multimedia : including audio editing (AUDACITY), video editing (MOVIEMAKER) and screen capturing (CAMTASIA) (see the NEWS Column)
• Vectes Europe has also introduced MUMETT in ONDERWIJS. Thanks to the enthusiastic teachers and pedagogic supervisors who are convinced of the added value of MUMETT because of their experience, we can have schools and students come to know this medium.

Partnership

• The Vectes Europe team works together with external IT experts to implement the software applications and to ensure they stay up-to-date.
• By participating in workgroups and seminars related to work-based learning and by regularly harmonising issues based on the requirements of customers and relations within the business world, the knowledge related to work-based learning remains current. Together with the VOV workgroup, Vectes Europe drew up a checklist in 2007: “Indicators for high-quality workplace learning”.
